Every year we give informal performances in lovely places, National Trust properties are a favourite as you’ll see from our photos. Bodnant Gardens is a really special place to sing. We also love supporting local and national charities .
Since its inception Coastal Voices has been invited to perform and support a number of local charities including Childline Cymru, St David’s Hospice, Ty Gobaith and Amnesty International.
Water Aid Sing for Water was co-founded in 2002 by Helen Chadwick and the Thames Festival to provide a spectacular concert as part of the Thames Festival programme, while raising money and awareness for the charity WaterAid www.wateraid.org/uk. Since then ‘Sing for Water’ events have been held by choirs and singers all over the UK, with Coastal Voices being no exception. As well as smaller donations from a variety of performances, we’ve organised two of our own big concert events for WaterAid raising £3,880 in 2006 and £4,500 in 2009! Then for our 10th Anniversary we raised another substantial sum taking our donations to WaterAid over the 10 years to more than £10,000!!
