Thanks to everyone at Bodnant for letting us in for another fabulous sing by the Pin Mill, really glorious surroundings and you could hear the singing down in The Dell and on the upper terraces. So lovely seeing people sitting on the rose terraces and the lawn to listen- just perfect!
What a glorious day of singing and getting to know Choer Sensible who were visiting North Wales from Orlon St Marie near the Pyrenees. After meeting them for the first time at Bodnant Gardens we shared songs and sang together by the Pin Mill. We reconvened later in the day for an afternoon workshop and shared supper where they presented us with gifts from their locale including wine, chocolate and pate!! Finally a delightful evening concert in St Mary’s Church, Betws Y Coed. Many thanks to the ladies from St Mary’s for making us tea during the concert! Also to Lorraine Langston our Frelsh contact for all her hard work and to Sophie Serougne leader of Choer Sensible. We hope to organise a reciprocal visit in 2015, watch this space!!
A massive THANK YOU!! to everyone that sang, listened, baked, ate, played and danced at our big WaterAid fundraiser. And the final total has passed £3,000!! So in our ten years of singing and also fundraising for WaterAid we’ve raised more than £10,000- amazingly life changing money for such important work!
It was a super, fun day with more than 100 singers from across North Wales joining together for a great concert followed by a superb Ceilidg led by Swing the Cat and all interspersed with tea and homemade cakes. Thanks to Coastal Voices for all their hard work.

Coastal Voices and friends welcome Malkhaz Erkvanidze on his tour of the UK for an evening workshop of Georgian songs. Malkhaz coached us on our Georgian pronunciation with much patience and humour!
Come and joins us as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary in style with a concert and ceilidh. When? Saturday March 29th 2014. Where? Llandudno Town Hall. What time? Doors open at 4pm for the Big Sing (4.30-7pm), followed by a Ceilidh, with local band ‘Swing the Cat’, from 8-11pm.

Thanks to the Gwledd Conwy Feast team for inviting us to perform again at Conwy Feast, and in it’s 10th year. We had a sunny spot on the high street for our two sets and a good audience each time. Fantastic to collect over £200 for WaterAid as well as having a good sing and getting to sample some of the best food Wales has to offer. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Feast!
Where were you in the summer of 2012? Well singing inside a wing-less aeroplane with a glass floor on Llandudno promenade of course! Coastal Voices are game for most things so we were delighted to be involved in Adain Avion as part of the Cultural Olympiad. It was certainly strange performing our flying and travelling themed set, as we couldn’t see our audience and they could only hear us. We disembarked still singing. In June 2011 10 singers from Coastal Voices joined with other choirs from the North and West in Manchester, for the first Sing for Water Northwest event. Following rehearsals in the amazing surroundings of Manchester Town Hall, we performed as part of the Manchester Street Festival. Thanks to Jules Gibb and the other organisers for all their hard work.
Northern Harmony are an inspiring and extremely talented group of semi professional singers form the USA who tour the UK every 18 months. It was a delight to host them for a workshop and joint concert in the stunning surroundings of the Marble Church. You can catch them this September (2014), check out our diary page.
As well as our usual street busking slot for Gwledd Conwy Feast, in 2011 we also got to sing inside Conwy Castle. The acoustics were great in the courtyard, we ventured up onto the battlements for a sing too. But the best bit had to be singing inside one of the restored round towers, we arranged ourselves around the wall and sang… just perfect.
